Scraps any non-conforming rollers that are found
Ensures that the application of a rust preventative is applied to the completed cone assembly
Turns on the collection vent at the beginning of each shift and empties out any excess debris found within
Indicates acceptability of rollers through the use of a non-permanent marking pen
Aligns work piece against fixtures under ram as specified
Determines the acceptability of roller sets based upon the values obtained
Essential Functions: Visual and dimensional inspection using measurement instruments such as electronic bench gaging, dial indicators, and feeler gages
May tend machine to separate parts or compress parts preparatory to assembly
Changes die heads to accommodate changes in bearing sizes
Removes all materials from the furnace after the annealing process in order to cool to room temperature
Maintain equipment and work stations through daily housekeeping and preventative maintenance activities
Ensures that materials are heated for the amount of time necessary for the annealing process to be completed
Environmental Conditions: Frequent impact noise, seasonal heat
Changes the mandrel on the buffing wheel to the proper size for the inner race being buffed
Must understand and read decimals
Applies a flame retardant powder to the collection vent in order to prevent the debris particles from catching on fire
Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
Uses a master to set up the gauge block in order to properly measure the roller value
Training: On the job training provided
New hires shall demonstrate satisfactory performance during new hire probationary period
Fills cages with properly dimensioned/oriented tapered rollers
Must be able to understand and read decimals
Vision must be normal (20/20). Correctional lenses are acceptable
Sets up closing press by changing dies based on order specifications
Operates an electric pallet jack
Visually inspects rollers under magnification, for conformance with AAR and customer specifications
Loads full cone assembly into closing press and operates press to close cage
Accept or reject parts according to industry and customer specifications

Qualification/Training: Must be able to understand and read decimals

General Educational Development: Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
Aptitudes: Requires motor coordination, ambulatory capability, finger dexterity and manual dexterity
Moves controls to lower ram that shapes parts or presses parts together
Places base cone into cone assemblies
Inspect and repair bearing components (cones) in a safe manner, compliant with all requirements, while achieving delivery and productivity performance expectations
Perform minor repairs including buffing, de-burring, and grinding using hand held rotary tools
