Support employee inquiries related to payroll in a timely and professional manner
Payroll Specialist – Bakersfield, CA (Onsite)
Generate payroll reports for internal management review
Payroll Specialist
Work closely with HR to support overlapping payroll and HR processes
Pay Details: $27.00 to $32.00 per hour
Collect and review payroll information including hours worked, PTO, garnishments, benefit deductions, and retirement contributions
Maintain strict confidentiality of all payroll and employee information
Coordinating payroll processing
Process manual checks and handle payroll adjustments when needed
Assist with 401(k) and social compliance audits and coordinate with external auditors
Ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing across the organization
Managing payroll data
Maintain payroll records and update employee information such as pay rate changes
Maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations
Partner with department supervisors to resolve missing or incorrect time entries
Prepare and submit biweekly payroll data to the payroll processing system
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Support payroll operations
Prepare and upload biweekly 401(k) contribution files and process HSA contributions
Review weekly hours submitted by external staffing agencies
Assist with paycheck and pay stub distribution
Monitor and review timekeeping records to ensure accuracy and completeness
