A minimum of 2 years' experience is required in Fabrication.
Position requires U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance which involves an extensive criminal and financial background investigation and previous employment reference verifications.
Pass all weld certification tests.
As such, all BWXT new hires will be required to adhere to applicable Company COVID-19 requirements within the workplace as a condition of employment.
ALL applicants must pass a Pre-Employment Weld Screen in order to be considered for this position.

The Welding Engineer should have a working knowledge of commercial and/or military welding qualification and fabrication specifications through practical experience and/or school classes.
As a federal government contractor, BWX Technologies, Inc. and any subsidiaries, affiliates and related entities ("BWXT" or the "Company") complies with all federal, state, and local laws and customer requirements regarding health and safety protocols. As such, all BWXT new hires will be required to adhere to applicable Company health and safety requirements within the workplace as a condition of employment.
Applicants must have theoretical understanding of the gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, shielded metal arc, submerged arc, and plasma arc welding processes.
A Bachelors degree in Welding Engineer is required.
Applicants must have a theoretical understanding of the welding of ferrous and non-ferrous base metals. This understanding includes but is not limited to the bulk base metal microstructure, bulk phase transformations of the base metals and weld metal that can occur during a welding process, and the proper selection of filler metals.

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a 6G Welding test, which includes both Vertical Stick and Tig Welding, and receive the corresponding certificate within six (6) months from your start date.
If you do not have a 6G Weld Certificate in Stick and Tig, you must be able to obtain one.
All expenses for obtaining 6G Weld Certificate will be paid by PPG.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent technical training
One to four years of experience in an industrial or similar environment
Basic Blueprint reading experience required.
