KPG Healthcare is currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Radiation Therapist for a permanent position. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a vital role in delivering radiation therapy treatments to cancer patients, ensuring precise and effective radiation doses while providing compassionate care. Your expertise in radiation therapy and commitment to patient well-being will make you a valuable asset to our healthcare partners.
Description:

  • Specialty: Radiation Therapy
  • Location: Honolulu, HI
  • Pay: By The Week, after 40,, Depending on experience
  • Shift Time: Full Time, Days, 40 Hours
  • Weekly Hours: 40

Qualifications:

  • Education: Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.
  • Certification: Current certification as a Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT - R).
  • Licensure: State licensure or certification as required by the state of practice.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a Radiologic Technologist is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating radiologic equipment and relevant software.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills, empathy, and a patient-centered approach.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to produce high-quality diagnostic images and maintain accurate records.
  • Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, adhering to ethical and confidentiality standards.
  • Physical Requirements: Capable of lifting and positioning patients as necessary and standing for extended periods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Treatment Planning: Collaborate with radiation oncologists and medical physicists to develop individualized treatment plans based on patient diagnoses and prescribed radiation doses.
  • Equipment Setup: Prepare and set up radiation therapy equipment, including linear accelerators and simulation devices, ensuring accurate alignment and functionality.
  • Patient Positioning: Position patients correctly and securely for radiation therapy sessions, using immobilization devices and imaging technology for precise alignment.
  • Radiation Delivery: Administer prescribed radiation therapy treatments, monitor patients during sessions, and make necessary adjustments to ensure accurate dose delivery.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct quality assurance checks on treatment plans and equipment to maintain safety and accuracy.
  • Patient Care: Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients during treatment sessions, addressing their questions and concerns.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of treatment sessions, including patient information, treatment details, and radiation doses administered.
  • Safety: Adhere to radiation safety protocols, including the use of lead shielding and monitoring radiation exposure levels.
  • Communication: Communicate with healthcare teams to relay patient progress, collaborate on treatment adjustments, and assist in coordinating patient care.
  • Continuing Education: Stay updated with the latest radiation therapy techniques, technology, and safety guidelines through ongoing education and professional development.
