Job Description:
Completes nutrition-focused physical assessments, takes measurements, reviews medical records, collects data via interviews, and evaluates anthropometric status.
Evaluates assessment data to identify nutrition risks, nutrition problems, criteria consistent with malnutrition, knowledge deficits, and high-risk health behaviors.
Offers nutrition interventions, orders, education, counseling, and referrals to other services.
May place feeding tubes or perform indirect calorimetry studies. Provides counseling and education using evidence-based techniques that reflect appropriate health literacy and cultural sensitivity to patients with disease processes requiring nutritional management.
Monitors and evaluates nutrition care plans to reach nutrition goals and promote optimal outcomes.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and have good comprehension of conversational English [Required]
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]
Education:
• Bachelor's [Required]
• Master's [Preferred]
Field of Study:
•Bachelor's degree in nutrition or nutrition related field
Work Experience:
• 10+ clinical experience [Required]
