The Equipment Operator utilizes forklifts with capacities up to 35,000lbs to load 48' stepdeck trailers to maximum capacity by weight and volume. This is a dynamic role which requires high stress-tolerance, interpersonal skill, collaboration, and ability to make decisions due to changing priorities.Job Responsibilities:* Loading and Unloading freight on 48' stepdeck trailers* Operate Forklifts with capacities up to 35,000lbs* Operate all yard equipment safely and efficiently* Assist with freight securement including chaining, strapping, and tarping of freight* Assist in spotting, bracing, and blocking of freight* Lead the 2nd shift yard loading process* Participate in daily pre-shift operations meetingsRequirements:* 2 years of forklift experience (required)* High School Diploma (required)* Heavy Equipment experience (preferred)* Previous supervisory experience (preferred)* Previous rigging experience (preferred)* Previous experience in the trucking industry (preferred)* Strong measurement and math skills* Able to lift and carry up to 130 lbs* Able to work outdoors in all weather conditionsThis is a full-time, 2nd shift, hourly position and you must be available 50+ hours per week. The Equipment Operator often works 6 days per week based on business need.Candidate must pass a pre-employment background check and physical.
