Police Officer
Reports To: Chief of Police
FSLA: Non Exempt
Summary: A police officer prevents, detects, and investigates all crime, enforces traffic laws and regulations, and investigates accidents. The goal is to provide a safe and secure campus and to assist faculty, staff and students.

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; CLEET Police Officer Certified, must complete a minimum of 25hrs CLEET continuing education to include 2hrs mental health and firearms requalification per year to retain certification.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, or oral form
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Successful completion of the Council of Law Enforcement Education and Training Program for Police Officers. Possession of a valid Oklahoma driver's license.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Successful completion of college level courses in criminal justice or law enforcement preferred.

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
