Art Teacher
To plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential
Essential Functions:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
- Maintain accurate records of all students.
- Develop schemes of work and lesson plans.
- Utilizes effective classroom management techniques.
- Work collaborative with building administration, teachers, parents/guardians and students.
- Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needs.
- Utilizes technology to support instruction.
- Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students.
- Manage student behavior.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal, including presentations.
- Ability to use basic, job related equipment.
- Be self-motivated.
- Flexibility to work with others in a variety of circumstances and a diverse group of individuals.
- Knowledge of NCLB (No Child Left Behind), FERPA and other federal, state and local guidelines.
- Passionate about improving urban public education and devoted to making a difference.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or above in Education
- Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate
Terms of Employment:
- 10 month employee
