divh2Mechanical Project Engineer/h2pIMEG is hiring a Mechanical Project Engineer in Pensacola, FL, to lead mechanical design efforts as a project manager or lead engineer for low to moderate complexity projects while supporting the delivery of larger, high-complexity work with senior staff. In this role, youll provide engineering solutions and advice to clients, with responsibilities spanning analysis, design, and implementation oversight of mechanical systems for the vertical building industry. Youll also work within the projects monetary budget while training, mentoring, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations./ph3Principal Responsibilities/h3ulliLead design efforts for the analysis of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems/liliDevelop detailed designs, specifications, and calculations using engineering software and tools per code requirements and IMEG standards/liliPartner with clients to gather requirements, communicate technical information, and build and maintain strong working relationships/liliSupport consulting project execution as part of a project team, including planning, budgeting, and scheduling to meet deadlines and objectives/liliDocument design decisions and client instructions while monitoring project design progress (percent complete and fee expended)/liliAnalyze engineering problems and develop practical, efficient solutions in collaboration with senior engineers and consultants/liliPerform in-process design reviews and implement IMEG quality control processes to meet IMEG, industry, and client requirements/liliStay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices; contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG/liliPrioritize safety by identifying and mitigating potential risks associated with mechanical systems/liliCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams (engineers, architects, and project managers) to deliver integrated solutions aligned to project goals/liliIdentify potential project problems and seek advice from the Project Manager/liliOversee projects through bidding and construction administration phase/li/ulh3Required Qualifications and Skills/h3ulliBachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent required/liliProfessional Engineer (PE) License required/lili2 years of experience minimum required, 4 preferred, in the building design consulting industry (years of experience may vary based on state license qualifications)/liliProficiency in design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications/liliStrong technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles in thermodynamics, psychrometrics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics relating to mechanical design in HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems/liliAbility to train and mentor less experienced staff/liliProficiency of industry standard engineering software and tools including HVAC load calculation software/liliExcellent communication and interpersonal skills/liliAbility to work collaboratively in a team environment/liliAttention to detail and problem-solving skills/liliEagerness to adapt to new challenges/liliProficiency in the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software/liliProficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook/liliAbility to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups/liliAbility to travel up to 10% with occasional overnight staysThis position is not eligible for sponsorship./li/ulpIMEG puts people firstwith a strong focus on career growth, work-life balance, and meaningful impact.
