Position Summary:
The Pharmacist is responsible for overseeing daily pharmacy operations in a high-volume setting, ensuring accurate dispensing of medications, managing staff, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards. This role requires the ability to operate independently while supporting both retail and long-term care pharmacy services. Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately review, verify, and dispense prescription medications
  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations across retail and long-term care services
  • Supervise and direct pharmacy staff to ensure efficient workflow
  • Manage inventory, ordering, and medication stock levels
  • Ensure accurate billing and claims processing
  • Provide clinical support including chart reviews and medication recommendations
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations
  • Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, and interactions
  • Monitor and manage high prescription volumes effectively
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment
Required Qualifications:
  • Active Pharmacist license in the state of practice
  • Strong knowledge of retail and long-term care pharmacy operations
  • Ability to work independently in a high-volume setting
  • Experience managing staff and pharmacy workflows
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in combo pharmacies (retail + long-term care)
  • Experience with inventory management and pharmacy billing systems
  • Strong clinical knowledge and experience with chart reviews
Work Environment:
  • Retail and long-term care pharmacy settings
  • High-volume operations with large staff oversight
  • Schedule: Typically 7 days on / 7 days off (flexible)
