- Family medicine nurse practitioner opportunity at an inpatient behavioral health hospital in Alaska, caring for children, adolescents, and adults with psychiatric and substance-use disorders
- Specialized programs for military populations, including first responders, service members, veterans, and their families
- 7-on/7-off block schedule with 10-hour shifts; full-time, benefits-eligible role
- Inpatient-only setting with a focus on holistic, integrated medical and behavioral health care
- Significant professional autonomy managing assessments, diagnostics, treatment plans, and follow-up care
- Responsibilities include initial medical admissions evaluations and H&Ps (within 24 hours of admission), follow-up visits, diagnostics, and discharge planning for patients ages 5+
- Close collaboration with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and support staff to create integrated treatment plans addressing both medical and mental health needs
- Co-management of patients with complex medical comorbidities alongside mental health providers
- Patient and family education on medical conditions, medications, and lifestyle changes to support overall health
- Medical consultations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and recommending treatments within scope
- Provide emergency medical care within licensure scope until specialty care is available
- Active or eligible Alaska NP/APRN license required
- Graduation from an accredited nurse practitioner program
- AANPCB board certification required
- Minimum 1 year of post-training inpatient or acute care experience preferred; behavioral health experience a plus
