Job Summary:The Material Handler/Box Truck Driver performs manual and clerical duties related to shipping, receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and delivering a variety of materials, equipment, and supplies. From time to time, this position will also be responsible for transporting goods around each facility utilizing a medium-sized box truck.Duties/Responsibilities:* Assists with or oversees loading and unloading of goods* Delivers WIP (Work in Process) material to various departments to support the manufacturing process* Examines incoming shipments for damage or shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify* Completes paperwork or forms required for documentation* Determines method of replenishment utilizing knowledge of procedures and routes* Preparing materials from storage to assembly line* Operates material handling equipment such as part carts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies to move stock or reorganize storage* Inspects the vehicle pre- and post-tripRequired Skills/Abilities:* Oral and written communication skills* Time management and organizational skills to keep track of inter-department deliveries and stay on schedule* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with other employees* Attention to detail* Ability to understand and follow directions* Clerical skills* Basic computer skills* Ability to lift/move heavy objects* Physical staminaEducation and Experience:* High School Diploma or GED preferred* Experience driving a company vehicle* Performs work under minimal supervisionPhysical Requirements:* Ability to get up and sit down many times throughout the day* Ability to lift to 50 pounds
