SQL DBA

Job Type: Full-Time

Company: Department of Technology (DTech), County of Sacramento

Key Responsibilities:

Administer and manage SQL Server databases, ensuring high performance, availability, and security.

Create SSRS reports in coordination with end user specifications

Perform regular database backups, recovery, and performance tuning to optimize system functionality.

Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues and provide support to business users.

Experience with Database encryption including TDE and TLS

Document and enforce database standards, procedures, and security policies.

Collaborate with development teams to implement the best practices in database management and integration.

Stay up to date with new database technologies and techniques, recommending and implementing improvements when appropriate.

Required Skills:

Expert in SQL Server Database Administration (DBA), including performance tuning, backup, recovery, and troubleshooting.

Advance experience with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and designing and developing reports

Experience with Data Replication; design, configuration, implementation, and monitoring.

Experience with SQL scripting and query optimization to support high-volume data operations.

Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues with minimal supervision.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with automation tools and database monitoring solutions.
