Supplier Quality Engineer
A well-established manufacturing environment is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to take ownership of supplier performance, product quality, and continuous improvement across the supply base. This role plays a critical part in keeping production running by ensuring suppliers meet strict quality, cost, and delivery expectations.
This is a hands-on role where you'll work directly with suppliers, lead corrective actions, and prevent issues before they impact the floor. If you prefer solving problems at the root instead of reacting to them, this is your lane. This position is on-site daily in Bluffton, IN.

Requirements & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or supplier engineering
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, PPAP, APQP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA
- Experience leading root cause analysis (8D, 5-Why) and corrective actions
- Ability to evaluate and qualify suppliers through audits and capability assessments
- Experience managing supplier nonconformances from containment through closure
- Comfortable working in both office and manufacturing environments
Must haves:
- Must be able to independently conduct supplier audits, issue supplier corrective actions, interpret SPC data, and drive supplier quality issues from containment through verified corrective action closure.
- Analyze supplier metrics (PPM, OTIF) and drive measurable improvement
- Reduce incoming inspection reliance by improving supplier capability
- Work directly with suppliers to improve cost, quality, and lead time using Lean/Six Sigma tools
Preferred Background & Skills:
- Experience in metal manufacturing, stamping, or industrial environments
- Familiarity with ERP/QMS systems and supplier documentation control
- Strong understanding of inspection methods and measurement tools
- Experience supporting warranty or field failure investigations
- Lean Six Sigma certification or formal continuous improvement training
