Job Title: Clinical oncology research RN Location: Fairfax, VA (On-site) Job Type: Full-time Reports to: VP of Clinical Operations Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled Research Infusion Nurse with strong oncology experience to support both standard care and clinical trial activities. This role requires expertise in chemotherapy/biotherapy administration, IV/venous access, and patient education while ensuring patient safety and protocol compliance. Qualifications:
- Current Virginia RN license or Compact
- BLS required, ACLS preferred
- OCN certification preferred
- Proficient in chemotherapy administration and central line management
- Provide age-appropriate care and therapy assessment
- Assist with exams, procedures, and patient flow
- Manage central lines, ports, and venipuncture
- Document care and communicate with providers
- Educate patients and coordinate community resources
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols
- Serve as a mentor and resource for clinical staff
- Verify informed consent and perform study-specific tasks
- Educate patients on study requirements and adherence
- Administer investigational drugs per protocol
- Collect and document labs, ECGs, and vital signs
- Collaborate with investigators and ensure accurate reporting
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand/walk for long periods
- Manual dexterity and normal range of vision/hearing required
