The Leadership School prepares students to be in the driver's seat of their own learning and to navigate the path toward the lives they imagine for themselves. We are the first public charter school in St. Louis County, paving the way for educational choice and opportunity for all families in the St. Louis area. We opened our doors in 2022 and serve K-5 students in the Normandy area. We are building our team of hardworking, results-oriented educators who embody our mission: to grow our students' leadership capacity through earnest engagement in academically rigorous, culturally relevant, and relationship-oriented environment. Coach a team of 3 - 5 KG - 2nd grade reading teachers
Co-teach or model-teach with KG - 1st grade teachers to demonstrate teaching effective instruction around reading
Prepare supplemental resources that lead students to a deep understanding of content
Provide small group intervention to groups of 5 - 8 students who are struggling to learn to read
Manage reading success plans, and reading diagnostics/benchmark testing
Lead monthly professional development around teaching students to read
Competencies & Qualifications
A track record of success as a teacher (at least 3-5 years of experience teaching reading in KG - 2nd grade)
High expectations for all students & the belief that all children deserve a life of opportunity & choice
Ambition & a desire to grow every day based on data & feedback
A collaborative mindset, the belief that we are stronger together & a desire to uplift your teammates
A go-getter, change-maker mindset - the ability to create a plan, take initiative, & follow through
Missouri Teaching Certificate - Required

Our innovative staff model is designed to create a supportive, motivating, and sustainable environment for all staff. In order to build a sustainable work environment, TLS will provide on-going coaching and development, dedicated time for content teams to collaborate and flexibility in the hours a teacher and leaders spend on campus.
