Qualifications: Appropriate Certification by the Missouri State High School Activites Association (MSHSAA)
Reports to: Athletic Director
Supervises: Participating students, assistant coaches and volunteers
Goal: To help students achieve a high level of skill, an appreciation of discipline and sportsmanship and an increased level of self-esteem.
Responsibilities:
  • Have a working knowledge of MSHSAA rules, event procedures, coaching technique.
  • Organize and schedule practice.
  • Ensure all participants have all required equipment.
  • Distribute and collect and inventory all returned equipment.
  • Organize fund raising.
  • Establish performance criteria for participation.
  • Organize presentation of awards and banquet at the end of the season.
  • Ensure transportation to events.
  • Attend all events.
  • Attend appropriate sideline training.
  • Keep and complete all appropriate records.
  • Make decisions for the best interests of the District and within Board polices and CSIP objectives.
  • Maintain appropriate rapport with participant parents.
  • Comunicate and cooperate with media.
  • Promote positive relations between the building, District, Board and community.
  • Work closely with the Athletic Director to schedule field and facilty use.
  • Attend all required meetings.
  • Keep Atlethic Director informed of appropriate issues.
Terms of employment: Contract established by the Board - generally the sport's season
A criminal fingerprint/background clearance is required.
