Villa Duchesne is seeking a full-time Social Studies Teacher for our Middle and Upper School, grades 6-12. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, engaging educator with the ability to give meaning and value to the study of history. Candidates with a master's degree and at least five years of teachingexperience are preferred but are not required. Content areas for this role include Civics and World History, with the opportunity to teach elective course(s) as well. Villa Duchesne faculty members also serve as grade-level advisors and participate actively in the life of the school.
The ideal candidate will also:

  • foster intellectual curiosity in students;
  • possess a commitment to using a variety of pedagogical approaches and differentiation strategies in the classroom;
  • be able to use technology to build understanding;
  • be a relational educator who contributes to the life of the school community as an advisor;
  • be organized and responsive in lesson planning, grading, and communication; and
  • be dedicated to the success of each student.
Social Studies Teachers at Villa Duchesne must commit to educating by the values articulated in the Goals and Criteria for Sacred Heart Schools in the United States and Canada.
