Description

Summary: To assist in the instruction of athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, the student shall receive instruction that will lead to the formulation of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline and self-confidence.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Assist with the overall supervision of his/her programs
  2. Responsible for knowing, understanding and implementing MSHSAA rules and regulations and attending the mandatory rules clinic and coaches meetings. Must be certified in CPR/First Aid/AED.
  3. Assist in supervision and conduct practices and contests in a safe manner.
  4. Maintain a professional appearance.
  5. Assist with managment of uniforms, equipment and facilities in a responsible manner.
  6. Work toward building and teaching good sportsmanship, cooperative work ethic and responsibility.
  7. Work toward developing good public relations with the parents, school, booster club and community.
  8. Communicate with the Athletic Director, administrators, head coach, players and parents.
  9. Assist in providing team rules and practice schedules to athletes, parents and Athletic Director.
  10. Teach relevant skills, tactics and techniques.
  11. Monitor and enhance performance by providing collaborating with the head coach to offer encouragement and constructive feedback.
  12. In coordination with the head coach assess strengths and weaknesses in a participant's performance and identifying areas for further development.
  13. Adapt to the needs and interests of the group or individual participant.
  14. Communicate instructions and commands using clear, simple language.
  15. Demonstrate an activity by breaking the task down into a sequence.
  16. Encourage participants to gain and develop skills, knowledge, and techniques.
  17. Assist athe coach and student participants in training and performing to a high standard of health and safety at all times.
