The oiler also safely operates a lube/grease truck to dispense lubricants to construction equipment. Also the oiler will be required to assist the mechanic during repairs.
Work under supervision of project superintendent or other designated person
Prepare service truck for use
Miscellaneous parts running and servicing
Service the asphalt plant, including generator oil change
Make daily walk-around of all rolling stock
Make repair list for the Job Superintendent
Perform minor repairs during servicing
Report all fuel usage to project supervisor
Correctly complete daily lube reports
Order supplies daily as needed
Service and maintain the service truck
Keep job van neat and clean
Maintain positive attitude
Complete responsibilities in a congenial and collaborative manner with co-workers
Maintain and promote a clean and safe work environment and culture
Position Requirements Competencies:
Must be 18 years of age.
Class A Commercial drivers license with Tanker and Hazardous Material endorsement preferred. Training provided by employer for non-CDL holders.
Knowledge of DOT regulations.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to do basic math.
Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards.
At least 20/40 acuity (Snellen) in each eye with or without correction. At least 70 degrees peripheral in horizontal meridian measured in each eye.
Work Demands & Environment:
Personal protective equipment is required on a regular basis, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, and as needed, safety-toed boots, respirator, protective clothing, gloves and other protective equipment.
Employee will be required to work in outdoor environments which may include exposure to extreme temperatures.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to walk, stand, sit, shovel, sweep, rake, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, and work on elevated platforms, possibly for extended periods.
Requires occasional moving/lifting of up to 50 pounds during the course of the work day.
