What You'll Do As an Elective Teacher at RePublic, your work will focus on the following: Drive Academic & Creative Growth
Design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction in your content area (e.g., art, music, dance, technology, physical education, or other electives).
Create opportunities for scholars to explore interests, express themselves, and build confidence in their abilities.
Use assessment tools, rubrics, and student reflections to measure growth and tailor instruction.
Foster a Collaborative Culture
Partner with colleagues across grade levels and content areas to integrate electives into the broader school experience.
Participate in weekly professional development, welcoming feedback to refine your practice.
Contribute to a school culture that values creativity, innovation, and whole-child development.
Support Scholar Engagement
Differentiate instruction to support a wide range of learners and skill levels.
Incorporate culturally relevant materials and approaches that resonate with scholars' identities and experiences.
Organize showcases, performances, or exhibitions to celebrate scholar work and achievement.
Cultivate Meaningful Relationships
Build strong, trust-based relationships with scholars, families, and colleagues.
Communicate regularly with families about scholar progress, achievements, and growth opportunities.
Advocate for the importance of electives as a core component of a well-rounded education.

Valid teaching certification or enrollment in a state-accredited Alternative Certification Program by the start of employment.
Preferred: Previous teaching experience in electives (art, music, dance, PE, technology, etc.), especially in underserved communities.
