Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students
Maintain accurate and complete records of student's progress and development
Utilize research-based best practices in daily planning and classroom instruction
Manage student behavior in the classroom
Create a positive classroom environment for students to learn in
Utilize school-approved curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students
Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms
Communicate and meet with families regarding the academic and social-emotional growth of their child
Incorporate technology skills into daily classroom practice to support learning
Participate in the planning and implementation of non-instructional activities, as needed
Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues
Perform other duties as assigned
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain and improve professional competence by attending professional seminars, workshops, etc. to keep current on relevant issues
Support school, enforce school rules and policies
Participate on building level teams and/or teacher based teams and/or district level "teams"
Organize various subject specific programs within assigned building, e.g., Art show
Work closely with administrators as part of development teams to discuss and implement new practices such as "team" teaching, semester projects, etc.
Act as department chairperson when requested and agreed upon
Serve as a role model for students
Assist in the selection of textbooks, equipment, and other instructional materials
Serve on committees and cocurricular activities as agreed upon
Supervise student teachers
Discipline students when necessary following the district PBIS model
Respond to routine questions and requests in a timely, appropriate manner
Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Principal, Assistant or designee
About You:
Active and current state of Ohio teaching license in the appropriate content area
Bachelor's degree in education or related field
High level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment based on frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to appropriately manage confidential information
Able to supervise students of various ages in different school settings (playground, cafeteria, etc.)
Training in varied instructional designs
Skills that foster and facilitate learning and classroom management
Knowledge in child development and an understanding of age appropriate tasks
Educational pedagogy
Student/teacher professional relationship
Technology skills eg. electronic grades, moodle
Basic first aid
Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks
