OC Animal Care Marketing Intern
Position: OC Animal Care Marketing Intern (Unpaid Internship) OC Community Resources/OC Animal Care This internship recruitment will remain posted on a continuous basis until the needs of the Agency are met. Students and recent graduates are encouraged toapply immediately.
OC Community Resources (OCCR) The County of Orange, OC Community Resources is a multi-faceted department comprised of OC Animal Care, OC Community Services, OC Housing & Homeless Services, OC Parks, and OC Public Libraries. OC Animal Care provides temporary housing for over10,000 lost, sick, or injured animals annually in an effort to reunite them with their owners or place them in new loving homes. Additionally, fourteen cities, and unincorporated Orange County areas, rely on OC Animal Care for animal control services. Animal Care Officers work out in the community to rescue animals, investigate animal incidents, and educate the public on proper animal care.
The Opportunity
OC Animal Care is seeking outgoing, dependable individuals with positive attitudes who can work independently in a fast-paced environment. The work experience that this internship will provide will lend itself to those interested in the medical, animal care, program management and/or county government fields. Additionally, interns will have the opportunity to make a direct and profound impact on the lives of companion animals in our local community. Duties may include assisting staff with one or more of the following assignments or projects:
Please note this is an in-person internship. Interns will not be able to perform the above duties remotely/virtually. This position may involve some exposure/contact with animals while photos and videos are taken.
Educational Requirements
Applicants must be current college students enrolled in an accredited college/university or be a recent graduate (within 6 months) with in marketing, media relations, advertising, public relations, communications, animal science, web analytics, content analysis, strategic communications, or a similar field.

Time Commitment
The internship is in-person only. OC Animal Care is open in terms of the time commitment required. Preferably, a minimum of 20 hours per week would be available for approximately 3-6 months is preferred; however, depending on the candidate, the program is open to working to working with less availability.

Occasionally, interns will be required to drive their own personal vehicle to off-site functions. Mileage reimbursement is available for authorized travel. Interns who operate a vehicle as part of their duties must possess a valid state-issued license and proof of auto insurance coverage for personal injuries and property damage.
