Meat Cutter
Responsible for cutting, trimming, and preparing various cuts of meat, including beef, pork, poultry, and lamb, to meet the needs of customers or business requirements.
Essential job functions include cutting, trimming, and grinding all meat as directed by company standards, displaying product on meat trays to ensure an eye appealing experience for the customers, maintaining neat, clean, and sanitary work, display, and storage areas, communicating temperature failure of cases and storage areas to the manager in charge, maintaining good customer service relations by always providing prompt and courteous service, observing policies and procedures established by the department, observing all local, state, and federal health weights and measures laws, and abiding by all company policies stated in the Employee Handbook.
Supplemental job functions include assisting in wrapping and packaging of product when needed, receiving, weighing, and breaking down meats and related products, and maintaining operating equipment and following OSHA regulations.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required include the ability to read and write to properly tag product, dexterity in hands to enable the cutting and trimming of the meats, ability to lift up to seventy (70) pounds at least forty percent (40%) of the time, at least one year experience as a meat wrapper, and the ability to stand upright for most of your scheduled work shift.
