Special Education Teacher

This position focuses on providing individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs while fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment. Terms of Employment: Contract Salary: $50,000+ (BA, 04, 1.0 FTE, 20252026 Salary Schedule)

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
• Valid Iowa teaching license with appropriate Special Education endorsement (or ability to obtain)
• Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Must be able to provide required I-9 documentation to verify eligibility to work in the United States.

Knowledge, Skills, and Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Provide direct instruction tailored to individual student needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
• Utilize data to inform instruction and track student progress
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and district special education requirements
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment
• Support students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development
