Production Line Leader

The Production Line Leader is responsible for coordinating, prioritizing and enabling daily production activities. Manage daily/weekly output based on material/capacity availability, and proactively identify and resolve potential bottlenecks.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily production activities to meet safety, quality, output and on-time delivery targets
  • Identify material/capacity constraints and resolve issues, including chasing material shortages, expediting and prioritizing functions (receiving, inspection, mfg. engineering, etc.) and escalating issues
  • Ensure that safe work practices are in use at all times
  • Ensure that ERP transactions are completed to reflect physical material movement
  • Achieve cycle count accuracy goals
  • Ensure production activities are completed in accordance with design and process documentation
  • Lead daily production meetings and assist with creating and publishing daily/weekly/monthly metrics
  • Assist with training and coaching of production workforce
  • Use data and continuous improvement tools to resolve internal and external corrective actions and drive process improvement
  • Assist engineering with prototypes and special projects for new development of product lines
  • Able to lead a team on multiple slide lines, hand solder and test benches, Wave, Selective Solder, Conformal Coating and SMT machines.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Inventory Management software
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Knowledge of lean practices and continuous improvements tools
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead by example, provide guidance, mentor peers and to promote team work
  • Able to work a 10.5 hour shift, which includes 30 minutes prior to start up by prepping the line with material and documentation 4 days a per week, M-Th. Fri and Sat as required.
  • High school diploma/GED
  • 3 – 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment required with demonstrated project leadership responsibilities
