Description
Sheppard Elementary Teaching Position
Sheppard Elementary prepares students for success. We serve Transitional Kindergarten through 6th grade students. Our students are hard working, kind, and motivated to reach their goals. Our incredible staff provides enrichment opportunities and academic and emotional support for all. Our dedicated and hardworking teachers and staff are committed to providing the best possible education and we partner with families to provide a safe, stable and welcoming environment for every Roseland student. This is a temporary 3-year grant funded position.
Requirements / Qualifications
Qualifications: An appropriate, valid CA State multiple subject teaching credential with necessary English learner authorization. Possession of, or active enrollment in coursework toward, one of the following: the California Reading and Literacy Leadership Specialist Credential (RLSS) or California Reading and Literacy Added Authorization (RLAA), or demonstrated equivalent expertise in structured literacy and reading leadership. Demonstrated expertise in the Science of Reading and structured literacy practices. Experience providing direct reading instruction to elementary-aged students. Experience coaching or mentoring teachers in literacy instruction. Other Desired Qualifications: Experience with intervention and/or foundational reading programs grounded in Science of Reading Practices (e.g. UFLI, Orton-Gillingham, SIPPS, etc.). Strong knowledge of foundational literacy assessment tools and data interpretation (e.g., Dibels, BPST, Acadience, etc.). Bilingual Spanish/English highly desired but not required.
