OVERVIEWThe Information Systems Security Analyst (ISSA) provides cybersecurity engineering and operational security support for Navy networked systems in accordance with DoD and federal cybersecurity requirements. This role supports enterprise risk management, incident response, and secure system architecture initiatives.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESImplement and manage cybersecurity controls to protect networked systems and dataConduct risk assessments, vulnerability analysis, and threat identificationSupport incident response, intrusion detection, and forensic analysis activitiesImplement encryption, access control, and network defense mechanismsSupport disaster recovery and continuity of operations planningMonitor system performance, availability, and security postureSupport compliance with federal cybersecurity laws, regulations, and policiesAssist with penetration testing, security assessments, and remediation activitiesREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSMinimum four (4) years of experience in cybersecurityStrong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, threats, and vulnerabilitiesExperience with encryption technologies (IPSEC, AES, GRE, IKE, MD5, SHA, 3DES)Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, OSI model)Experience with intrusion detection, incident handling, and network traffic analysisUnderstanding of cloud security architecture and deployment modelsActive Secret clearanceSecurity+ or equivalent certificationPREFERRED CERTIFICATIONSCISSP, CEH, or other DoD 8570/8140-compliant certifications
