Meat Department Manager
A large supermarket is seeking an experienced Meat Department Manager to lead their meat department and take out team and ensure the highest standards of service, product quality, and customer satisfaction.
This individual will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the department, including staff management, inventory control, product display, and customer relations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the food industry or similar roles, a strong leadership ability, and a passion for providing quality products and exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise, train, and motivate a team of meat department staff to ensure efficient and productive operations.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock to ensure proper rotation and minimize waste.
- Ensure the meat department delivers excellent customer service by providing product knowledge, answering customer inquiries, and addressing concerns promptly.
- Maintain adherence to food safety regulations, health codes, and sanitation practices in the meat department, ensuring the highest quality of products and a safe working environment.
Skills required:
- Proven ability to lead, train, and inspire a team to achieve departmental goals.
- In-depth understanding of food safety regulations and best practices in handling and preparing meat products.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage inventory, place orders, and reduce waste.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide superior customer service and resolve issues effectively.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the food industry or a similar role (e.g., in a meat department, grocery store, or food production facility).
- Leadership Skills: Previous supervisory experience in managing teams and operations in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Meat Products: Strong knowledge of different types of meats, cuts, preparation methods, and storage techniques is a plus!
