RN/MS 6900 Shift
Shift: 1900-0730. Their first week they will have day shift hours with a range of 0700-1700. This position is on 6900 GI/GU at BJH. Candidate must provide excellent care to our patients. Must have excellent documentation skills. Also, must have the desire to work as a team. IV skills and phlebotomy are required. Must have 2 years med surg experience. Ratios: 1:4-6. Years of experience REQ: 2. First-timers accepted: No. Weekend REQ: Every other. Certs REQ: BLS. Skills REQ: Med/Surg, Telemetry- remote monitoring, Colostomy care, Feeding tube care and management, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Phlebotomy, PICC line management, Starting IVs, Heparin, Insulin, PCA. Is on-call REQ? No. Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Within service line. Open to accommodating block schedule? No. Locals accepted: No - 75 mile radius. Pending License accepted: Yes. RTO Restrictions: No more than 7 days. Guaranteed Hours: 36. Special Requirements: Epic required. Patient Diagnoses: ostomy, colon resection, colon cancer, bladder cancer, GU, medical overflow high turn-over surgery patient unit. Will need to pass Relias EKG exam. Interpretation/Management of Dysrhythmias required. The following drips are administered on our unit- Heparin, Lidocaine (pain only), Bicarb, Bivaldirubin, Amiodarone (Stable Non Titrated) occasionally. We also have PCAs, Epidurals and CBIs with different irrigation solutions. We have centralized tele – preferred that Nurse should have some basic knowledge of tele. Special Procedures/Unit Details: Foleys, CBI continuous bladder irrigation; TURPS, protocols for colorectal patients.
