High School Science Teacher

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate high school science teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be committed to academic excellence and student growth, bring creativity to their instruction, and foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and standards-based instruction
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that reflect student needs and curriculum goals
  • Establish a classroom culture that promotes learning, respect, and high expectations
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom activities
  • Assess and track student performance; provide feedback and intervention as needed
  • Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and school leadership
  • Participate in professional development sessions and school-wide initiatives
  • Support school events, field trips, and community-building activities
  • Complete administrative responsibilities including attendance, grading, and lesson planning
  • Adhere to all school, district, and network policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

Valid New Jersey CE, CEAS, or Standard teaching certification (or eligibility for certification) Must pass a criminal history background check Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive salary range: $60,000 - $80,000, commensurate with experience Additional bonuses can include Retention incentives Comprehensive benefits package, including: Health, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance NJ State Pension Plan Flexible spending account (FSA) Professional development support, including access to a lesson plan repository Teacher referral program Extended time off for the Thanksgiving and winter breaks

Performance Evaluation

Staff are evaluated under the Achieve NJ Teacher Evaluation system, which includes: Teacher Practice Student Achievement Student Growth Percentiles (when applicable) Supervision [For classroom-based roles]: Supervision of students, paraprofessionals, and volunteers
