Data Collector / Mass Field Appraiser
Overview
We are seeking dependable, detailoriented candidates to perform property data collection and field appraisal support for mass appraisal processes. This role involves onsite inspections, and accurate documentation of property characteristics. Candidates must be professional, reliable, and comfortable working independently in the field.
Core Responsibilities
- Conduct onsite property inspections for residential, commercial, or land parcels
- Measure structures, verify property characteristics, and document physical features
- Take photographs and ensure proper labeling and documentation
- Identify changes, improvements, or discrepancies from existing records
- Communicate with supervisors regarding unusual findings or property access issues
- Follow established appraisal guidelines, safety protocols, and quality standards
- Interact professionally with property owners when necessary
- Maintain accurate daily logs, routes, and inspection records
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic computer skills and ability to use tablets or mobile datacollection devices
- Good communication and customerservice skills
- Ability to walk, measure, and inspect properties for extended periods
- Experience in property appraisal, real estate, construction, GIS, or related fields
- Familiarity with mass appraisal systems or CAMA software
- Understanding of building components, property types, and measurement methods
- Prior field inspection or surveying experience
- Primarily fieldbased work with some office or dataentry time
- Standard daytime hours
- Must be punctual, dependable, and able to work independently
- Comfortable driving daily routes and navigating assigned territories
- Must maintain professionalism when interacting with the public
- Reliable, selfmotivated, and able to manage daily field assignments
- Strong observational skills and accuracy in documenting property details
- Comfortable with technology and mobile datacollection tools
- Professional demeanor and strong work ethic
- Adaptable to changing field conditions and varying property types
