Corporate And Foundation Partner

MAHEC seeks a strategic, relationship driven Corporate and Foundation Partner to lead institutional fundraising efforts that advance our mission to improve health, education, and access to care across Western North Carolina. This position manages a portfolio of corporate and foundation funders, develops compelling proposals, and secures philanthropic investments that support MAHEC's priorities in education, clinical innovation, workforce development, and community health.

The Corporate and Foundation Partner plays a key role in strengthening MAHEC's visibility among regional and national funders, cultivating long-term partnerships, and aligning institutional giving with organizational priorities. This role requires exceptional writing skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to collaborate across departments to translate programmatic needs into fundable opportunities. Specified Skills:

  • Computer: Excellent skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database applications required. Proficiency in donor management systems (e.g., Raiser's Edge NXT, Salesforce) preferred.
  • Foreign Language: Spanish speaking skills preferred.

Other:

  • Exceptional writing, editing, and research skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with flexibility and professionalism.
  • Experience with institutional prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Ability to interpret data and develop actionable insights.
  • Comfort engaging with clinicians, faculty, executives, and community partners.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, public administration, development, business, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience securing and stewarding five and six figure grants or gifts from corporations and foundations.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in healthcare, higher education, public health, or nonprofit development.
  • Experience working in a complex, multi-site organization or academic health system.
  • Experience developing proposals and reports for foundations and corporations.
  • Familiarity with multi-year funding strategies and institutional partnership development.

Required Licenses:

  • Valid North Carolina Driver's License.

Schedule:

  • Regular attendance on-site is an essential function of this position. Typical business hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (or flexed to best meet the needs of the clients and/or the Division); 40 hours per workweek; weekend, holiday, or evening coverage is occasionally required. Work hours will need to be flexible in order to respond to special work assignments, or evening activities, as requested by the team leader.

Position Compensation:

  • Salaried position, full time position + full benefits available
