Description
IT Security Project Specialist
The DSS Accountability Office (DSS-AO) is responsible for protecting the integrity of social services programs administered by the New York City Department of Social Services (DSS) and ensuring that DSS complies with all statutory, regulatory, and contractual standards. The Office of Data Security Management (ODSM) is responsible for the implementation and management of the Agency's cyber security program. ODSM works closely with NYC Cyber Command and is tasked with continuously improving the Agency's risk posture by ensuring appropriate security controls are in place to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of Agency information resources. As remote access and teleworking capabilities expanded exponentially, the need to enhance DSS-HRA-DHS cyber security priorities has accelerated. ODSM is recruiting for (one) one IT Security Specialist to function as a Cyber Security Project Specialist, who will:
Hours/Schedule: Monday to Friday: 9AM -5PM Work Location: 151 West Broadway, NY NY
Minimum Qualifications
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to projects and policies required by the particular position; or, Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.
Preferred Skills
- Project Management Experience for enterprise-wide projects utilizing Waterfall and Agile Methodologies.
- Experience in road-mapping relating team projects to overall goals of the organization.
- Understanding of IT Service Management Operations.
- Understanding of Cybersecurity Operations.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Good presentation skills.
Residency Requirement
New York City Residency is not required for this position.
