Senior Product Designer

Our client, a growing and highly product-driven financial services company specializing in custodial, trust, and investment solutions, is seeking a Senior Product Designer to lead the evolution of their platform experience across multiple products and user types.

This is not a traditional corporate UX role. The company is looking for a highly autonomous, product-minded designer who thrives in lean environments, enjoys solving messy operational problems, and wants meaningful ownership over both product direction and user experience.

You will serve as the primary designer across investor-facing applications, advisor tools, and internal operational systems, partnering directly with executive leadership and engineering to modernize and simplify a complex platform ecosystem. The current platform is functional but requires a major evolution in workflow clarity, information hierarchy, onboarding, transactional experiences, and overall usability.

The ideal candidate combines strong systems thinking with modern product/UI taste and can confidently balance speed, practicality, and quality in a fast-moving environment.

Senior Product Designer Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $110,000 $130,000 (commensurate with experience)

Senior Product Designer Requirements & Qualifications

• 38 years of product design experience with ownership of end-to-end product design
• Strong portfolio demonstrating modern product/UI design, workflow simplification, and systems thinking
• Experience designing complex workflows, onboarding flows, dashboards, internal tools, or transactional systems
• Strong understanding of information hierarchy, interaction design, usability, and modern interface patterns
• Ability to clearly articulate design decisions, tradeoffs, and product reasoning
• Comfortable operating independently with minimal structure or oversight
• Proficiency with Figma or similar modern design tools
• Strong collaboration skills with engineering and product stakeholders
• Experience balancing speed, iteration, and quality in product delivery

Senior Product Designer Must Haves

• Proven ability to improve or modernize outdated, overly complex, or operationally heavy products
• Experience designing for B2B SaaS, fintech, financial services, or complex internal systems
• Strong systems-oriented product thinking with the ability to simplify complexity
• Portfolio showcasing practical, real-world product work rather than conceptual or marketing-focused design
• Ability to thrive as a sole designer or within lean product teams
• Strong ownership mentality with a builder/operator mindset
• Experience working directly with developers throughout implementation
• Comfort receiving and responding to direct feedback in a highly collaborative environment
• Experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate workflow, ideation, research, or execution

Senior Product Designer Preferred Background & Skills

• Experience in fintech, trust services, investments, or regulated environments
• Experience modernizing legacy platforms or redesigning complex operational workflows
• Familiarity with responsive web applications and multi-surface product ecosystems
• Exposure to frontend technologies or component-based development environments
• Experience working in startup, founder-led, or high-growth environments
• Strong understanding of form design, onboarding UX, and data-heavy applications
