Description

Deliver professional nursing care to patients within an inpatient rehabilitation setting. This role involves working under physician guidance to provide comprehensive patient care, mentoring new staff and students, and performing nursing duties within the scope defined by licensing boards.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and evaluate patient needs, maintaining detailed care plans.
  • Promote patient independence by setting care goals and involving patients and families in medical discussions.
  • Administer and manage medications accurately and timely.
  • Educate patients and families on physical, emotional, and psychosocial care aspects, including disease processes and symptom management.
  • Document patient care thoroughly and promptly according to policy.
  • Observe and report changes in patients' physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual conditions.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy regulations regarding Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • Foster effective communication and professional relationships with patients, families, healthcare teams, and external agencies.
Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Licensure & Certifications: Current Registered Nurse license in a compact state required. BLS/CPR certification required within 30 days of hire or by orientation end. Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, NIHSS, or AWHONN may be required depending on department policy.
Experience: Previous experience in a similar clinical environment is preferred.
Skills & Abilities: Strong nursing principles application, effective communication, computer literacy, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform heavy work occasionally exerting up to 100 lbs and frequently up to 20 lbs. Standing or walking 51-75% of the workday.
