A law firm in Columbia, SC is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Insurance Defense Legal Assistant to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing attorney calendars, preparing legal documents, and organizing and maintaining case files. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and a solid background in legal administrative support. Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain attorneys' calendars, including scheduling appointments, court dates, and deadlines
  • Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents and correspondence
  • Organize, maintain, and retrieve files (electronic and physical)
  • Communicate with clients, courts, and other professionals
  • Assist with case preparation and administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a legal assistant
  • Proficiency with legal document preparation and case file management
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures
Compensation/Benefits:
  • Annual salary of $50,000-$55,000 based on experience
  • Medical, Dental Insurance and Spending Accounts, Life and Disability Coverages, Profit Sharing Plan
  • PTO and holiday pay
