Description
This employee will be responsible for the scheduling and verifications of required pre-authorizations for Radiology, Cardiology, Chemotherapy, and other outpatient services. This employee will have to work closely with the Ancillary departments, Admitting, Business Office and Physician Offices.

Education/Experience Requirements and Other Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior customer service experience is required. Medical terminology course or background preferred. Previous medical office experience is preferred.
Must have data entry, computer, organizational and accurate typing skills. Must be able to work with interruptions and pay attention to detail. Excellent communication skills are a must. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general clerical procedures. Ability to effectively present information and communicate with co-workers, patients, and the general public. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to exercise independent judgement and give or take constructive criticism well. Ability to learn both mistakes and successes.
The position requires a self-motivated individual to know what needs to be done and to follow through in carrying out the day to day task to keep the department running smoothly. This position requires an individual that can provide the support and resources to other staff, as needed.
