Location: Sherman Elementary SchoolThere is a SAFE ELO (Extended Learning Opportunity) Tutor position open for Sherman Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year. The work schedule is a maximum of 29.5 hours per week. Applicants for this position must have a valid Ohio Certificate/License in the subject area as required by the ODE. Qualifications:
Directly Responsible to: The Director of Student Support Programs
Duties/Performance Responsibilities
Conduct: Each staff member shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance and abuse of any prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District. Each staff member shall serve as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings. Each staff member has a moral responsibility to help instill in students the belief in and practice of ethical principles and democratic values. - Highly Qualified Teacher status for subjects taught.

Duties/Performance Responsibilities
- Need to complete the Academic Improvement Plans.
- Strive to implement, by instruction and evaluation, the school district's philosophy of education, goals, and objectives.
- General knowledge of standards based curriculum.
- Employ a variety of instructional methods consistent with the course content and the needs and capabilities of the students involved.
- Maintain accurate records of student academic progress and attendance and be ready to submit these upon request.
- Recognize the need to provide individual instruction.
- Counsel individual students regarding their educational progress.
- Complete correctly and punctually all forms needed by the coordinator and administration for reporting purposes and program planning.
- Maintain confidentiality with regard to information about students and parents.
- Prepare tutorial lesson plans.
- Perform other reasonably related duties as may be assigned by the program supervisor or building administration.
