Description
Resident Care Assistant
Supervise or assist residents with personal care services, which include Self-Administered Medication Management, Activities of Daily Living and Instrumental Activities of Daily Living as identified in the Resident Service Plan and assigned by the Charge Nurse. Supervision includes reminding and/or observing residents while they perform activities. Assistance is either through physical assistance or supervision.
May included, but not limited to:
Function as a member of the team, assisting and supporting co-workers as needed. Other duties as deemed necessary.
Must have a high school degree or equivalent. Must demonstrate competency in the following area:
Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday. Must possess sight/hearing/Speech senses, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met. Must use body mechanics when bending or lifting. Works beyond normal hours and on weekends, evenings, and holidays when necessary. Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B virus. Know the community's disaster and fire safety policies and procedures, including the location and correct use of the fire alarm system. Follow the designated plan of action in the event of a fire or other emergency. Must be able to assist in evacuation of residents. Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, etc., in excess of fifty (50) lbs. In order to meet the work performance expectations in a satisfactory manner, the employee must:
