DescriptionPRIMARY PURPOSEThe Transportation Associate is responsible for reviewing the loading plan report (LPR) to provide driver support of warehouse functions and ensure on-time delivery.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation/CertificationHigh School Diploma or GED requiredSpecial Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesStrong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsCustomer‑centric, self‑starter and strong organizational skillsAbility to handle multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environmentWork independently with minimal supervisionAccurate data entry skills, basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook)Working knowledge of routing software a plusKnowledge of warehouse safety regulations preferredExperienceSix months of related transportation and warehouse experienceExperience operating a rider and electric pallet jack, stand‑up/sit‑down forklift preferredPRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESReview the LPR to determine loading sequence and load accordinglyCommunicate with Dispatch Coordinator with issues of routingCommunicate with all drivers to provide loading dock door numberEstablish loading temperature and notate on the invoiceStage and load product utilizing material handling equipment and verify capacity via truck payloadUnload inbound product and assist the warehouse team as neededComplete required checklist, before operation of material handling equipment, and ensure supervisor signs off after useEnsure cleanliness, orderliness, and safety of facility following appropriate NTFB food safety and personnel safety policies and proceduresDetect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards in accordance with all applicable policies and proceduresComplete any necessary equipment trainings as mandatedPerform other tasks and duties as assignedMENTAL DEMANDSThe person in this position needs to be able to read; communicate verbally and/or in written form; remember and analyze certain information and remember and understand certain instructions or guidelines.The person in this position needs to adapt well in the face of workplace stressors, such as customer complaints, meeting deadlines, compliance offenses and completing priorities.PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear.Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.Must be able to successfully operate forklift trucks, as well as manual or electric pallet jacks, following completion of required trainingENVIRONMENTAL FACTORSModerate to loud noise (e.g., medium to heavy traffic in the warehouse with forklifts and pallet jacks)This person should have the ability to work in varying internal (hot and cold) temperature levels in the warehouse, including cooler and freezer areas; may assist occasionally outdoorsWork schedule is Monday - Friday 4:00am – 12:30pm, with occasional SaturdaysThe mental and physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
