DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO • Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors. • Answers telephone calls in a professional manner; appropriately prioritizing and communicating messages to the provider. • Maintains accurate and continued documentation including patient histories, conditions, treatments, responses and assessment of changes. • Completes all provider assignments/patient follow-up by the end of each day. • Maintains patient exam rooms, patient restroom, and workstations according to standard. • Maintains established office policies and procedures, objectives, performance improvement program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. • Maintains a safe, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients and families in accordance with office standards educating patients and families as needed. • Ensures an adequate stock of supplies assisting in cost containment through appropriate ordering and conserving of supplies and equipment. • Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations. • Reviews Athena workflow dashboard and completes necessary tasks. • Verifies schedule one week in advance to confirm patient information, including demographics, insurance and due date are properly entered. • Inputs ultrasound report into patient's Athena chart. • Enters ultrasound charges into Athena the following business day. • Maintains daily and monthly logs as required • Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES • Ability to organize, coordinate and evaluate patient information. • Ability to communicate effectively. • Ability to be flexible and function under stressful situations. • Ability to train and mentor new staff members.
EDUCATION • Graduate of School of Radiologic Technology
EXPERIENCE • 1 or more year experience in general ultrasound
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE • ARRT registered as a Radiologic Technologist and/or Registered in Ultrasound (RDMS) or registry eligible in Ultrasound • Current BCLS certification • Iowa Mandatory Reporter - Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Certificates
