Wireperson II
Powell is an engineered to order manufacturer of switchgear and electrical equipment for the power generation industry. A Wireperson II is responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining electrical systems and components. They work with various types of wiring, cables, and connectors to ensure proper functioning of electrical equipment and systems. Wirepersons may read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints, and they often work closely with electricians and other technicians to complete projects. They must adhere to safety regulations and follow industry standards to ensure the integrity and reliability of electrical systems.

Use hand tools (e.g. crimpers, strippers, torquing tools, calibrating tools, etc.) to perform tasks.
Run and bundle wires according to Powell wiring standards.
Layout, install, drill and tap devices onto doors and back pans.
Install name plates and space heaters.
Install and terminate CTs.
Install communication cables, CAT 5 and CAT 6 cables, fiber optic and BriteSpot
Operate continuity buzzers
Terminate and run wire for MCC, SWGR, and harnesses according to wire diagram.
Perform in process inspections
Read and understand single and three-line drawings, including symbols
Assist in root cause analysis on engineering changes and correct discrepancies
Assist small teams of employees to complete a specific task assigned as assigned by lead wireperson and/or supervisor
Identify part discrepancies and write HFDs for corrections
Promote a safety culture as well as attend all safety meetings.
Ensure that work areas remain clean and well organized.
Minimum education level of a High School Diploma or General Education Equivalent Diploma is preferred.
Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in manufacturing
Ability to read and understand point-to-point wiring diagrams
Ability to read and use a tape measure
Must have a basic command of the English language, both written and verbal.
Safely use variety of hand/power tools.
Lift up to 50lbs using proper lifting techniques.
