Description
Catering Server - Casual
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Catering Server Casual for Dining Services Catering team. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Ensures exemplary guest service through all forms of service including carving stations, bartending, running food during events, etc. Replenishes products and supplies in compliance with event standards. Ensures events are properly equipped and executed by transporting, pulling, setting up and breaking down, and returning equipment to designated storage areas in compliance with event standards and instructions. Provides support to present a clean and safe work environment. Performs other duties as assigned.
FLSA - Nonexempt
Salary Details - $18 - $22/hourly

Position Status - Part Time
Working Hours - 10 - 20 based on number of events
Daily Work Shift - Rotating
Work Arrangement - This position requires a fully on-site work arrangement.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience - High school/vocational school education or equivalent experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively respond to customer inquiries or complaints. Ability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced, stressful environments. Friendly, service-oriented demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications - Previous experience in catering and/or fine dining environment.
Equipment Utilized
Physical Demands and Work Environment - Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Ability to lift, carry, push/pull food and beverage items, and catering equipment up to 50 lbs.
Special Conditions - Some travel is required to campus-wide events. Some evening and weekend hours are required, must be willing to work with a varying/flexible schedule based on catering business fluctuations.
