Attending Physician
The Dr. Rafael A. Peñalver Clinic has been a model for neighborhood health for more than a decade. The clinic, located at 971 N.W. 2nd Street in Little Havana, provides comprehensive primary care services, including primary care and adult medicine, pediatrics, as well as obstetrics and gynecology services. Peñalver Clinic also facilitates referrals to Jackson Memorial Hospital for specialized services.
The role of Attending Physician is to provide the medical management of the various patient care programs as assigned. Maintains effective lines of communications with the medical staff, nursing, social work and management, and coordinates development, implementation and evaluation of standards of patient care.
Responsibilities
Experience
Generally requires 3 to 5 years of related experience. Will see newborns and infants to adults and geriatric patients.
Education
Doctorate degree in Medicine is required.
Credentials
Valid Florida Medical License. Active DEA and board certification is required (Family Medicine or Meds/Peds). Other specialty certifications related to specialty are a plus. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) and any additional applicable life support certification for Healthcare Providers is required upon hire with at least 6 months validity and maintenance at JHS for the duration of employment. Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
