Leidos' Defense Systems Electronics Manufacturing Facility is seeking a Weekend Shift SMTA Process Engineer Specialist to join our engineering team in Huntsville, AL.The role involves developing, documenting, and executing manufacturing processes and procedures for electronic products and supporting production of printed circuit board assemblies through various processes such as SMT, Through Hole Selective Solder, Press fit, and Conformal Coating.Primary ResponsibilitiesDevelop, document, and execute manufacturing processes and procedures for electronic products.Support production of printed circuit board assemblies through processes including SMT, Through Hole Selective Solder, Press fit, Conformal Coating, and other PCBA manufacturing processes.Collaborate with a multi‑disciplinary team to develop a wide variety of hardware and work with automated technology used in assembly and test equipment.Create machine programs and oversee the execution of manufacturing activities.Work closely with operations to complete all assembly details and prepare the assembly for delivery to the customer.Collaborate with engineering, operations, and quality teams to develop processes that validate customer quality requirements.Coordinate with production control to meet desired delivery schedule.Basic QualificationsBachelor's Degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience or Masters degree with less than 2 years of experience; alternatively, High School Diploma with 6 years of experience.Willingness to work weekend shift (Fri-Sun) and availability to train on first shift for at least one month before transitioning.Weekend shift hours are 6 am to 6 pm.Experience with SMT, PTH, Selective soldering, and Conformal Coating processes.Experience with Costpoint Material Planning, Agile/Windchill product lifecycle management, or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) is a plus.Strong leadership skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently, and ability to multi‑task.Experience working with design engineers, manufacturing engineers, and technicians to develop a build strategy and identify potential assembly problems.Basic computer skills required for assembly tasks, including retrieving, updating, and completing manufacturing documentation.Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to Huntsville‑North Alabama, AL.U.S. Citizen with Final Secret Clearance or eligibility to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.Preferred QualificationsAt least 5 years of manufacturing experience on programs building electronic hardware to government specifications.Experience with processes and equipment such as ASM pick‑and‑place, DEK screen printers, BTU ovens, PVA coating machine, Pillarhouse or JUKI selective solder.Experience with software that maintains bills of materials and other engineering design data.Familiarity with electronics used on launch vehicles, targets, or missile components, and with production of cable harnesses, electronics, and electromechanical assemblies.Experience in various quality roles.Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).Pay Range$59,150.00 - $106,925.00Pay and BenefitsCompetitive compensation, health and wellness programs, income protection, paid leave, and retirement options.
