Description
Parks Maintenance Worker
Performs semi-skilled to skilled manual work of ordinary difficulty and responsibility in performing light to heavy physical labor in general maintenance and upkeep of parks, landscape, grounds, and recreation facilities. Employees in this classification work receive assignments and work independently or as part of a work crew, depending on the nature of the assignment or project. Work involves responsibility for the safe and effective operation of common landscape maintenance equipment.

Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. Requires possession and maintenance of a valid Florida driver's license. Prefer training and certification in landscape design and maintenance or park beautification.
Supplemental Information
Knowledge of traffic and highway safety rules and regulations and understanding effective precautionary measures necessary to avoid accidents. Knowledge of the methods, tools, equipment and necessary safety precautions used in general grounds maintenance work. Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
