We are one of the leading innovation groups within Optum working to solve new and complex business challenges, turning ideas into reality.

We depend heavily on leading opensource technologies like Linux, Docker, NodeJS, Flask, Mongo DB, PostgreSQL, Redis and more.

Our team works in a fast pace environment and is looking for self-driven motivated software engineers who are ready to take up this challenge.

Please describe the team the candidate will be working with - how many members? What is the break-down of the teams skill sets (ex: 1 PM 4 Developers etc.)?

Our current team size is 10. We have a mix of onshore and offshore developers in our team. 90% of our team are perform hands on development work.

What does the ideal candidate background look like (ex: healthcare specific background, etc.)? We want to be as specific as possible with our firms so they can find the type of candidate youre looking for.

Healthcare background is preferable.

What experience will set candidates apart from one another? Front end development experience

What skills/attributes are preferred (what will set a candidate apart)?

• Analyze, design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and continuously improve software
• Translate product concepts into project commitments (features, user stories, etc.) that deliver incremental value to our customers frequently and with high quality
• Create high-quality software by conducting peer design/code reviews and developing automated test cases
• Ensure that all delivered solutions adhere to industry best-practices for scalability, maintainability, usability, availability, extensibility, security, and portability
• Work closely with product owner and other stakeholders to aid solution development
• Ensure high quality solutions by implementing unit tests, driving continuous integration/validation, and supporting the creation and design of performance, load, and user acceptance tests

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years of software engineering experience including requirement analysis and problem solving (stepwise refinement, lean, etc.), communication with business partners, unit testing
• 2+ year of experience of front-end coding in modern web technologies such as React, Redux, Socket.io, Nodejs, Jest and Cypress
• Experience in microservices based architecture
• Exposure working with continuous integration / continuous delivery tools and cloud services such as Jenkins, Github and other CI tools
• If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• Problem solving, innovative and self-driven
• Experience with Agile methodology such as Scrum and working collaboratively
• Familiarity with microservices
• Exposure to JavaScript, Python, React, Redux, socket.io, jest, cypress, Flask, Restful APIs, Docker, Jenkins, GitHub, Cloud technologies

What will the interview process look like? (Video phone or in person? How many rounds? How technical will the interviews be?)
