You will be part of a collaborative, high-performing engineering team within Invesco Technology that is focused on transforming client communications through the implementation of a modern Vermillion Reporting Services platform. The team partners closely with business stakeholders to deliver scalable, cloud-based solutions that enhance how Invesco engages with clients, while driving the transition away from legacy systems. The primary role of this position will be to lead the Invesco technology team's effort to implement a new client communications solution on the Vermillion Reporting Services platform. The vision is to replace the existing platform with Vermillion and transition current communications to ultimately decommission the existing platform. Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Work closely with clients to understand business requirements and to gain a thorough understanding of the business processes.
  • Develop project estimates and manage project work plans.
  • Answers team member questions, assists team members with issues, and oversees team member work for quality.
  • Lead a team of engineers including development, mentoring, and product delivery management
  • Learn and adhere to department standards for design, development and quality control. Complete major deliverables including technical design documentation and implementation of business requirements.
  • Prepare for and support user acceptance testing.
  • Work as part of a project team, reporting progress and escalating issues to project management in a timely manner to ensure successful completion of projects / reviews.
  • Complete all tasks related to technical analysis, building and unit testing, quality assurance, system test and implementation in accordance with the IT development life cycle.
  • Provide post implementation support.
  • Create and maintain documentation for systems and processes.
  • Assist with developing improvements to team processes and procedures.
  • Stay abreast of new developments and functionality of Vermillion and client communication trends.

Requirements of the role include:

Expertise in: Java, Webservices, Spring, Mulesoft, AWSExperience / understanding development process in the DevOps environment (including exposure to CI/CD tools such a Jenkins, source code management tools - e.g. GIT)Excellent problem-solving skillsGood understanding of software engineering concepts and practicesExperience in developing and consuming REST or GraphQL APIsDebugging skills with the ability to ask for helpConsume libraries, tools, and APIs from other teams to achieve the desired functionalityTechnical team leadership experience.Experience in Scaled Agile framework is preferredA Bachelor's Degree in IT related program is preferred and a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
