Title: Journeyman IX Salary Range: $33.80 per Hour Status: Non-Exempt Location: Salinas, CA | Yuma, AZ Reports to: Manager Field Haul GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSEUnder minimum supervision, perform a variety of skilled maintenance and repair work relating to Dole facilities and equipment. The Journeyman IX level associate will be responsible for mechanical duties, greasing, have knowledge of bearings, pulleys, belts, rebuild basic gearboxes, and ability and skill to use hand tools and basic power tools. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION Troubleshoot/repair mechanical equipment and components. Troubleshoot/repair pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical. Perform metal fabrication, welding, and basic machining. Perform inspection on several types of equipment. Perform preventive maintenance and E-Service on equipment, vehicles, trucks, harvesters, and other types of equipment. Use of various heavy mechanic hand tools necessary to repair industrial equipment. Forklift, trucks, tractors, and harvest operations. Basic computer skills. Performing the maintenance, installation and necessary modifications of mechanical equipment including machine conveyors, rollers, sprockets, and belts on conveyors. Working as a team member on all aspects associated with the maintenance, assembly, site cleanup, and loading equipment. Must have own tools. Must follow all safety rules and company policies. Compete all other tasks or assignment as directed by supervisor/manager. JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skill And Experience Requirements) Five years at a journeyman level in the maintenance, repair, and alterations of electrical and mechanical equipment. Strong mechanical experience. Ability to safely operate and maintain of basic hand/power tools. Ability to read and follow the operation and maintenance manuals for equipment. Basic troubleshooting skills. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to work unsupervised as well as within a team. Work in a safe manner and always adhere to safe working procedures/protocols. Preferred Mechanical certification(s) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSEmployees are required to wear approved shoes and protective equipment. Constant standing on a concrete floor, reaching, and repetitive hand movements will be required. Ability to use hands and fingers to handle tools. Ability to climb ladders and stairs and work at heights. Ability to lift up to an excess of 50 lbs. Ability to work in closed proximities.
